Went to the launch night of the new venue in camden. Had a really good night. Small and intimate venue and really good music. They had this guy called Mark Wilson on who somehow managed to sound like he had a band playing with him despite him performing on his own. Truly amazing

I am afraid that all the live music has stopped at Lush Islington. Fear not though a new and improved version will be opening up shortly in the heart of Camden. Keep sending the demos in as this new project will be up and running very shortly

Of course Auntie ate all the free nibbles while I was playing my set... but I got a couple of beers too.  A nice place to have a drink generally, and the music is a plus.

Really nice atmosphere. Artists get looked after by promoter - I received several free drinks the night I played. Some lovely touches to the night, including plates of free nibbles (which were delicious) being passed around to everyone. Not the most attentive crowd, so you have to do some work, which is a good thing I reckon. Reminded me a lot of some American bars I have played in. The fact that it's free in makes it very easy to get people down. Top darts.

Lush is an intimate but decently sized venue run by very friendly people with exceptional taste in music. It ranges from rock to pretty far-out jazz with each evening promising, if not eye-opening, then certainly ear-opening acts. In fact, my band Pistols At Dawn is playing a set at the opening acoustic night on 22nd, so get your asses down there and have them kicked. Happy hour is 5-7 and the presence of only rather strong lagers (no Carling-esque piss) means that its probably best for the homeward bound to forget catching the tube. Rock
